E-Safety Support for Parents and Carers
Our pupils are growing up in an era of user-friendly digital technology. The online world can be a great source of learning, advice, support and communication method for our pupils to stay in touch. As well as the benefits we recognise the risks that the internet can present for our pupils and want to support you as parents and carers in keeping your children safe online.
Below are some links to pages that offer some valuable advice to any questions that you may have and to help you understand some of the latest threats and trends across the internet, especially with social media. Whilst many Internet Service Providers offer filtering systems to help you safeguard your child at home, it remains surprisingly easy for children to access inappropriate material including unsuitable texts, images and movies. Parents and carers are advised to set the security levels within Internet Browsers with this in mind.
If you become concerned with what your child is accessing online or you are concerned about your child’s overall emotional wellbeing, please intervene as soon as possible and inform your child’s tutor or a member of the safeguarding team.
